Has anyone from the 3rd board AROTC had a letter uploaded on the application site yet? Just checking...we have not, but I sure would like to see something else. I love seeing DS's say WINNER, but will feel really good when we get that "official" letter!

No, not yet. I don't think they'd be uploading letters on the weekend (but have checked a few times anyway)... hoping for the official letter tomorrow (and hoping for another school or two to be added to the list). We've waited this long - what's another day or two.

And from my Army days, I seem to recall the saying "hurry up and wait" being used a lot...

My letter had an issue. I was the second board and everyone had their letter uploaded except me. I emailed cadet command after two weeks and they uploaded it for me. I would wait about two weeks. It will usually come in the mail then too.

My award letter has not been uploaded either. I hope it'll be up sometime this week because I want to request a school change and I want to start the DoDMerb process as soon as possible. I know that DodMerb contacts you as soon as the letter is printed, but can I still register online for it anyway?

Just let the DoDMERB packet come in and follow their instructions. They have a specific user name and password for you. If you try and register on your own, it won't be linked with your scholarship and could cause complications.

Unfortunately, the uploaded winner letter is just the letter and acceptance form, but it appears that the official packet will have much more info regarding dodmerb and hopefully transfer request information.

Hmmmm...my son's doesn't show an uploaded letter, unless I am not looking in the correct place.

It's under the uploaded documents tab just before the status tab in the application, under "winner letter". I am sure it takes time to upload them all... We really need the full packet which will come via snail mail in order to find out how to formally request a transfer of the scholarship. Patience...

Ok, still not showing, but that's great that they are coming out. Thanks for the info! Thankfully we are not needing to request a transfer! Just wanting to get it all squared away. We are almost afraid to even say anything yet until we get that "official" letter! : )

I'm seeing winner letters getting posted. Looks like it might be alphabetical, so if your last name begins with a Z, hang in there. Be a little patient and wait for the offer letter and insert with all the instructions to arrive before you charge off into the woods. DODMERB and transfer instructions will be included.

And once you make your decision be sure to touch base with the gaining unit/ROO and see about the next step for that particular Battalion, since each Battalion will be a little different.

Thank you and I appreciate your knowledge ClarksonArmy! We have never been a part of something like this so it is all new, scary and exciting at the same time!

I know, patience is a virtue... thanks ClarksonArmy - we want to have our rucks packed and ready to go as soon as the official packet arrives! I found more information from another thread regarding transfers and will have my son start to prepare his letter to Cadet Command with supporting documentation for the transfer since the deadline to request one is 4/12... Hang in there everyone!

ArmyMAScott, would you mind sharing the information you found on requesting the transfer? We would also like to get the process started ASAP. Thank you!

ArmyBrat - here it is... copied from a post by ClarksonArmy a week or so ago:

You need to do exactly what the insert to your offer letter said regarding transfers. If you forgot what it says here it is:

Requests for transfer of the scholarship must be sent to this headquarters with the following:

1. A statement by the applicant stating why they are requesting transfer.

2. A copy of the letter of admission from the college or university where the applicant is requesting the scholarship be transferred.

3. If the request is based on the applicant not being admitted to the school indicated on the Notification of Intent, a copy of the letter from that college or university indicating admission was denied. Failure to apply does not constitute a failure to be admitted.

Transfer requests must be received by this headquarters no later than 12 April 2014. ALL decisions will be made after 12 April, with a target notification date to winners of no later than 5 May 2014. This same decision timeline applies even if you are in a College or University’s Early Decision Program. Transfers will be considered on a case by case basis. The applicant will be provided an approval or denial of the request in writing.

Good luck - I hope it helps! My son started his letter last night. We're just waiting for the official snail mail packet to arrive and will likely fed-x the request out the next day!

ArmyMAScott, could you tell me whether or not your son is writting a complelling reason as to why he wants to transfer or if he is simply puting in a request? I am in the process of requesting a transfer but an having a hard time deciding what the appropriate thing to write is? Thank you!

My winner letter has not been uploaded yet, however my status shows winner. Are they just slow at uploading them or is this a bad sign?

mp00133 -
He is following the list as posted with a simple explanation of why he is requesting a transfer (school awarded, Texas A&M, technically accepted him, but to a 2+2 program with a local community college, even though he could reside on main campus with the Corps of Cadets - we don't want to send him from NJ to Texas to go to community college when we've got a fansatic cc right here at home).
His first choice school (VA Tech) is also a SMC, so we're hoping it will transfer. He's not writing any flowery essay. I seem to remember the KISS (keep it simple stupid) philosophy in the Army... I hope that helps and good luck to you!

ahaase14 - I seem to remember reading somewhere that you should e-mail Cadet Command about the missing letter... as long as the status says "winner", you should be receiving something soon - good luck!
