Letters of Recommendation

Just to make 110% sure, West Point does not ask for optional/required letters of recommendation, correct? I have teachers on board with Evaluations, but I don't need any formal/traditional recommendations? I'm pretty sure USNA does encourage this, so just checking.

No they don't. Also, Navy didn't seem to care that I didn't send them any either; they aren't mentioned on the app.
 
For the USNA application, only send additional letters of recommendation if they present something that isn't really shown otherwise in your application. Just having another teacher or family friend who is a retired officer write you a letter probably won't help, and just gives them more paper to read. I didn't submit any extras and I made it to plebedom.
