the quick and dirty of it is that the sea is NOT something to be messed with. she will captivate you and always draw you back to her, but she will never hesitate to let you know that you're at her mercy.
life out at sea is not easy, but it is rewarding and has some GREAT experiences. although my days at sea are short, and more-or-less behind me, i wouldn't trade it for the world. i think it'd be good for all young men to go to sea for at least a little while. shows you what you're really made of.
that's a quick summary, there's way more to say than could ever be said. it's all in all a very worthwhile endeavor and i encourage you to look into it!
