My DD received an LOA in September and is 3Q. She found out via her portal yesterday that she got a nomination (leave it to NJ to wait until the 11th hour). Her semester just ended this past Wednesday so her 7th semester transcript hasn't gone out yet, but her grades are consistent with what they've been. She doesn't quite know what to tell people since she hasn't gotten a BFE yet. But is it safe to assume, barring any unforeseen catastrophes, that she will get the BFE? Just don't want to get ahead of ourselves.

I'd hold off. I've never heard of a problem with USMA but have read on some other threads that some folks with LOAs and noms for USNA did not get appointments last year. Evidently USNA miscalculated something. As you say, there is no point getting ahead of yourselves. One would think you will get the info about an appointment soon, and that should be soon enough. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think the problem was with LOA recipients last year at USNA, but Principal Nom holders. Some with Principal noms did not get appointments, but as far as I know, LOA holders that remained fully qualified, and met the provisions of LOA were appointed. That said, I would still hold off until BFE in hand and/or portal is updated
