LOA Received!

Congratulations!!!

My son's LoA was also CC'd to the MOCs. Since there may be a discrepancy with where they might have sent yours (CA instead of PA), I would use this as an opportunity to call your MOCs to make sure they received the LoA (especially the one you've already interviewed with). You might want to also call your RD at USNA admissions to let them know of the mistake, if in fact they were sent to the wrong place then they will need to resend them. When are the rest of your interviews?
Congratulations again.

It looks like mine was accidentally sent as if I was in California, not Pennsylvania (CA-13 vs. PA-13)

It seems as if this has been happening to a lot of people. Mine were sent to CT-4 rather than MD-4 and my friend from NASS got hers sent to Wisconsin rather than Connecticut. At my interview, I showed them my LOAs [got one from West Point also] just to make sure they knew of them.

LOA

I got my LOA yesterday...I was not expecting one so I am very excited!!!!

I had my 2nd senator interview today, very difficult questions!

The MOC interviews usually are nothing but formalities if they already know you have an LOA before you walk into the room.

My sons had an LOA prior to the MOC interviews and about the only question they got was, "If you get a nomination to the Naval Academy, is it your intent to attend?"

What were the difficult questions you were asked? What - did they ask you to define the String Theory or something?

Had my 1st interview (senator #1) last tuesday, have senator #2 tomorrow, and congresswoman sometime early Dec. And ends up they thought I was CA-49 rather than PA-13 (I guessed wrong about which CA district it was).

When do most MOC announce/submit their nominations? And how long does it then take the academies to turn around and offer an appointment?

On the topic of interviews:

For the most part I don't think there's many "hard" questions, just simply unexpected questions. If you haven't thought about something a particular way, its not that enjoyable to try to reason out a coherent response on the spot, in front of people that matter. Even with all the various interviews I've had to do, both for military applications and otherwise, I always get atleast 1 new thing asked each time.
My advice for those questions is even if you haven't reasoned it out, just look for any possible way you can tie it into your strengths. Don't worry about answering the direct question either.
Example: I was asked if I knew about the physical requirements of Plebe summer. Rather than saying "Yes, I have heard that the workouts are x number of pushups, y miles of running..." try to say about how you have been preparing physically, what some of your physical strengths are, and how your character will help you to succeed in the face of adversity.

When do most MOC announce/submit their nominations?

Our Congressman told my daughter that she should hear from him in 2 weeks. Our Senator told her middle of December. We are in Ohio. Not sure how that matches up with others.

Our son interviewed with Congressman on Dec 8, got a call about nomination on Dec 29 and got call about appointment on Jan 4. The blue folder arrived on Jan 18. His Senator telephone interview was scheduled for Jan 18. When they called, son told them about his appointment. They congratulated him and moved on to the next interview. He did not have LOA.
