Ok so how do I know if I received an LOA? Other than receiving a hard copy notice in the mail, would it be posted to my online candidate application or anything like that? Because I just received an email from my BGO and he said that he looked at my profile and said that I have a Letter of Assurance if I am able to maintain my grades and get my nominations and congratulated me.. Would my BGO know before me? I have seen from other posts that I would know before my BGO does. Sorry, I am honestly just in sheer disbelief. I was not expecting an LOA... Thanks for the feedback and have a happy thanksgiving!

Hey Staying Positive....stay that way! If you got a letter that says " You are guaranteed an offer of appointment if your remaining admissions requirements are satisfactorily met" then you got an LOA.

Additionally, if the only box that is checked in the letter is "Nominations" then you know what still needs to be done. As far as your BGO knowing before you do, who knows. In any event, it doesn't make much difference if you have the evidence in your possession.

Work hard on getting the nom, keep your grades up as noted and enjoy your holiday knowing that you've just earned something very significant in the pursuit of your goal.

Congratulations to you!

Strange that an LOA is contingent on receiving good grades and a nomination (that's usually what's said about an Appointment after getting the LOA) but congrats nonetheless. You won't see it on your portal though, you'll just have to wait for it to come in the mail.

Agreed. Staying Positive may have misinterpreted what he/she heard from the BGO. I suspect that what BGO would have said is you have the LOA, still need to get the nom and get keep your grades up while you go through the process. That makes more sense to me.

Thanks for the clarification, I just received a call from him and he said that he saw a yellow A on my profile and said that meant I have a letter of assurance. Then he said that I just need to finish my application and receive a nomination.

True, you either have an LOA or don't. They never say that you'll get an LOA if you do this or if you do that.

Now, one you get an LOA there are some dumb things you can do to have it rescinded. But that's always the case even once you have an appointment.
