Good evening everyone. My family and I will be attending in September for Parents Weekend to visit our daughter Jacqueline who will be entering in June.

Travel arrangements have been interesting...Lots of times it's hard to get an accurate view from the computer which hotels are really good/bad.
We are looking for a place that's an average price range that would have a full kitchen. Other than the Candlewood or Staybridge, can anyone offer any other places? There will be 4 to 5 of us (that includes two little girls) ..so they like to eat nonstop:)

Sometimes it's hard not knowing what the locations are..I know Friday september 2nd..it looks like they start really early for classes...so we are trying to plan accordingly. Also understandably , there are so many visitors, I am assuming the local area fills quite quickly?

Thank you all for any information you can give! It's so nice having this forum!

We like Marriott Residence Inn North. It is newer with a full kitchen and very nice. There is one South which has a full Kitchen but a little older and further away. Make reservations soon because they fill up quickly. Best of Luck!

Thursday and Friday tough nights

Hotels on Thursday and Friday are filled or filling up very quickly...you may not get what you're looking for. On Saturday and Sunday nights many people leave the Colorado Springs area, so more rooms open up. Hence, you may want to split your stay (2 nights at Hotel A and 2 nights at Hotel B.) I also recommend you make a reservation for Monday night and leave Colorado Springs on Tuesday. The reason is that cadets are not due back to the hill until 7:00pm and saying good bye is tough enough without adding the hassle of flying out of Colorado Springs or Denver that evening. Good luck.

Another option is to split up your party - we had two HS students who needed to get back for classes so my husband flew back with them Monday afternoon and I waited with my son and flew out the next morning so he could go back as close to 7 as possible.

Another thought is to consider sites like Homeaway or VRBO and think about renting a condo/townhouse/house. We rented a nice 2 bedroom condo, with living room/pullout sofa, full kitchen and 2 baths for $600 for the week last year (staying in the same place this year). Looking at most hotel rooms we would have paid far more since we felt we needed 2 rooms to give our son some privacy (5 in a room, with 3 teens, is just too tight). Even though we didn't end up using the full week we still came out ahead plus it gave my son more space to relax without worrying about upperclassmen being in the same hotel, etc.

Try VRBO.com. We rented a house last year for our first parents weekend. It was awesome. Nothing like having all the conveniences of home right at your finger tips. Less expensive than a hotel. We already have the house rented for PW this year.
