This is going to be a stupid question, but I am ecstatic right now so my thinking may be off...I received a letter from admissions that states in the last paragraph, "this letter is sent only to outstanding candidates deserving of admission...I am authorizing you for an Overnight Visit." I assume this is a LOE? As always anything helps, and I am not satisfied until that BFE is in my hand! One step closer.

Congrats! My D got hers a few days ago. Just keep working on your overall packet.

Congrats!! This is very encouraging news for you. I have stated before, last year there were an estimated 200 to 250 LOEs mailed to well qualified, competitive candidates.

Great news!! So nice to see you received an offer to visit overnight. These are all positive steps toward your goal. No question is ever to stupid if your looking for an answer. That is why its a question. Keep working hard on your packet/application. Enjoy your visit.
 
I visited WP last year in the spring and I am not sure if my family can afford for me to go up there again. Is it necessary to have that overnight visit, is it negatively looked upon if I do not take this opportunity to visit?

Its not necessary, it won't be looked at in a negative tone. WP admin thinks highly of you and offering you an opportunity to come take a closer look.
