Our DS is still waiting...he's waiting on a medical waiver. Still hopeful!

The wait is over in our neck of the woods; TWE arrived today. While so many offer encouragement with stories of appointments at the 11th hour, those are few and far between. Son is moving forward with plan B and will reapply for c/o 2019. Good luck to all of you who are accepted or still in the mix!

Im a national guard soldier still waiting to hear back. I heard on here that current candidates who were offered admission have until April 15th to accept/deny admission. So after that they will probably be sending out more offers Im assuming. Don't take my work for it that just what I read on here. Fingers crossed!

Best of luck to your son in both his Plan B year and reapplication for Class of 2019, I certainly hope he gets to meet the cadet in the Red Sash next year.

Just saw this on the WP Admissions FB page:

What on my portal tells me the status of my application? How do I know if I am admitted, holding, or denied? I have tried through email and phone calls to reach my Regional Commander but received no response.

soccmomer, I saw that on their FB, too. I noticed that in the last 2 weeks or so they are not posting any more numbers, and are giving those generic responses: "Contact your RC for information on your status." If only the RC would reply!!

I sent you a PM.

Mom3boys,

Very sorry to hear about the TWE, and best of luck in Plan B & reapplication.

With your experience and knowledge, do you know what the timeline is for receiving a TWE? Over at USNA, they notify by April 15th, whatever the case. Does USMA have any deadline at all?

Thanks so much for any info.

looking for clarification on "late" notifications

Does anyone here know where those late (May & June) appointments are drawn from?

In other words, does USMA have a "waitlist" (as distinct from the NWL) from which they will pull those late appointments?

USNA notifies candidates by April 15th if they are 1 - not appointed (plain ole TWE); 2 - NAPS or Foundation; 3 - put on the "waitlist", and might be appointed in the 11th hour; or 4 - appointed (plain ole BFE).

I'm trying to understand if USMA does something similar, or if they just leave everyone on the NWL to dangle until R-Day.

Those applicants that have been deemed fully qualified and are on the NWL, BUT are too far down on the list to feasibly be considered for an appointment either have already or will be receiving the TWE. There are others high on the NWL that could still conceivably be offered an appointment once the deadlines approach or offers are declined. Regardless, it will not be a large number since the academy initially makes more offers than the targeted class size. There is no special "reserve" list of candidates, strictly based on NWL standing.

My3Sons2017, Thank you for the info. I am just wondering when that "will be receiving the TWE" is supposed to happen...

There isn't a specific date. It is made on a case by case basis. There should be a significant number of letters that go out after 15 April once those that have that deadline for decision/acceptance and medical determination passes. Some may get them later into May as the class firms up and they can either eliminate or extend specific offers. Often times the RC will note to the specific candidate that they are on the bubble and it could go either way.
