My son won a full 4-year ROTC scholarship with a 4.35 weighted GPA, but his senior grades are not quite as high. Mostly A's and B's, but he did get a D in Pre-calc. Not to make excuses, but he struggled with an instructor who seemed to intentionally make the tests confusing. He had studied hard and does understand the material though. When tested at the community college, he placed easily into Calculus which he's taking this summer. Is he in danger of losing his scholarship? He goes to orientation in two weeks, and I know the transcripts are already there. Not sure what to do but very worried for him.

Don't worry. That one class won't be a problem. As long as he got his high school diploma, he's all set. He needs to maintain at least a 2.5 GPA in college to keep his scholarship (although he should shoot for much higher).
