The Boot Letter is out...Great! So...
We went to Fort Hamilton and got the him 8" boots, no problem. But they were out of stock on the low quarters. When I go online I find NOTHING and nowhere else has anything but shiny.
Does anyone know of an actual place I can order a pair of 11-11.5 Black Non Shiny Mildew Resistant Oxfords M206H?

I went to Ft Bragg this weekend and had the same problem. All they had were the shiny, chlorofram shoes.

The boot letter said to contact 2 people via email or phone to get a catalog sent to you. That's what I did today.

Just go up to West Point

If you've got a car, take the drive up to the West Point PX. We're from Pittsburgh and were up there this past week. The ladies back in shoes were very helpful.

Sizing them is important. My kid went 1/2 size smaller than normal and into a wide to get the low quarters to fit right.

Boot size was a full size smaller than his shoe size.

I'm also from NYC and we drove up to West Point. They have everything except for the Khyber boots. I recommend the newer lightweight low quarters. You can feel the difference.

I am going up to WP from NC in a few weeks. Figure I can just get it done right the first time, instead of ordering and then returning, ordering and returning...

Online PX

We ordered both from the PX. Info is listed in the letter. The low quarters arrived in about 5 days.

rubber heel or not on the Bates Lites

I recommend the newer lightweight low quarters. You can feel the difference.

Are those the Bates Lites? The instructions say the low quarters must have a rubber heel, but the Bates corporate site only indicates that the standard leather oxford has rubber outsoles, the "Lites" have the "Non marking Bates Lites® outsole", whatever that is.

Anyone know for sure if the Lites comply with a rubber heel? I can imagine the lighter weight would be comfortable but if non-compliant they would be less helpful. I'd like to know for sure.

Thanks!
