Made it this far, the question is how further?

VP can nominate 10 per vacancy and gets charged one of them so if he's got one vacancy of his 5 max on yard at any time...the other 9 can go into the national pool. Maybe you can be one of the 9. If he's got two....then thats 20 noms..

DS applied for VP nopm at AFA and USNA....did not get an MOC nom at AFA so hoping he can get a VP nom for a chance at a slot. REc'd MOC nom for USNA so now all we can do is wait for one, the other or both to BFE or TWE us.

Meanwhile he is having fun senior year, accepted at several schools, knows what he wants to study and is having fun playing his last year of HS lacrosse....while I ride him to keep his grades solid!!!

Good luck, we're pulling for you.

My DS found out his application has yet to be reviewed. Is this normal?

How did you know reviewed or not? Have no clue if DS's has been looked at once or more.

I'm from Illinois and got a congressional and presidential nomination, I got a BFE dated on JAN 31. I'm in IL-06

The RD knows. But as you have seen on this board, even if its reviewed doesn't mean a decision has been made one way or another. It could mean they have moved to the NWL, or they just haven't sent a BFE or TWE yet and they are waiting on a mass mailing, or they need to review another applicant on a slate to rank them all, or they got put in the pile for NAPS consideration or foundation.

I'm from Illinois and I haven't heard yet. I emailed USNA today and found out that my application is "still being reviewed". This really sucks but good luck. (Unless you're in my district)

Question for those experienced with this process. We know for certain that a candidate on my son's slates has an LOA, and my son does not. Both he and this candidate have 3 nominations from our MOCs and live in the same district. This candidate is waiting on a medical waiver from USNA. Could our son's appointment possibly be held up waiting to see if this candidate gets a waiver (assuming he is one of the more competitive candidates on the slate, that is.)

Its possible. Its such a big puzzle, nobody really knows where they will slot the LOA candidate. Both of them having 3 noms helps though because it gives the Academy more flexibility.

Hi SemperFi2019 and sbennett4660. I am a junior who lives in IL-06 and will be applying for USNA Class of 2020. Can either of you tell me how Roskam runs his nominations and interviews? Also, do you know how competitive it is typically in the 6th District? If you don't mind me asking, what kind of grades/scores/stats do you have that got you your nomination? I understand if you'd rather not tell.

Roskam had an online application and my interview was in December. I found out about my nomination very quickly afterwards. The interviewers were very friendly and didn't mind joking around a little bit. Here are some of my stats:
ACT: 33
GPA: 3.8
Sports: tennis, swimming and soccer.
EC's/other: class officer, student council, lifeguard, swim instructor, pet adoption volunteer, community theatre, AP scholar with honors, peer tutor, veterans care volunteer
College courses completed by the end of senior year: Calc 1, 2, 3, physics 1, 2, biology and molecular biology, English 1 and 2, chemistry 1.
It seemed like ACT scores had a lot of weight so I would just advise you to keep taking it until you get a score you're satisfied with.

Thanks! After one time taking the ACT, I have a 32 Math and 35 English. Does he superscore like the academy or just use the ACT subscore from a single sitting? I am taking again in April and hope for a 34.
