I was just wondering, is it possible to major in Computer Science while at the academy and still be competitive for a pilot slot after graduation?
I had originally planned to study aeronautical engineering, but after a recent suggestion, i am considering the option of computer science.
I am asking to see if aeronautical engineering is required for pilot candidates since it relates to the track selection. If not, will computer science still be a "technical" enough major to pass the requirements?

Thanks.

There is no required major for a pilot slot. You can major in whatever the academy has, be it English or Astronautical Engineering. Major does not play into pilot slot selection.

Now, some careers do require certain majors. Don't expect to become a research engineer with a degree in History.

40% of compsci majors from USAFA have become pilots
