Majors?

hey,

I have a question:
I've heard that one can major in business @ USCGA, but that cannot be found at their website.
Does anyone know if it is possible or not?

I also have another, different question. It is not really important, but I was wondering if students attending USCGA learn how to use firearms.

1. The "Business" major at USCGA is known as Management. It has been described as an "undergraduate MBA."

2. All cadets can qualify for a Coast Guard Expert Rifle Ribbon and a Coast Guard Expert Pistol Shot Ribbon.

3. The USCGA has both a Division 1 Rifle Team and a Division 1 Pistol Team.

cadets no longer get a rifle qual, just pistol. (unless you join the rifle team)

Well, you'd start with a Marksman ribbon for rifle and pistol. Expert is a medal.

It is nearly impossible to double major in both Government and Management, right? But some kids have probably done it, right?

I can't imagine being able to take the required courses for BOTH majors....some of the engineering majors have some cross over and I can think of one person who has double majored.

Government and Management together? I would consider that nearly impossible.

ive only seen OR/EE double majors. unless you are an absolute genius and find the classes here incredibly easy its not worth making your life miserable though.

BR, we might be talking about the same person, those are the only double majors I've seen....2007 grad did that....no thanks!

my firstie last semester was an OR/Gov't major, but i'm pretty sure she validated a good number of classes 4/c year in order to do so. to be blunt, double majoring sounds like a great idea until you're actually here and realize how crazy it actually it is. that's just my opinion though
