March Madness 2014

I am sunk in a big way thanks to Duke's loss. :frown:

I don't think I've ever seen a bracket implode on the first round like yours is. And the amazing thing is that if Stamford wins, you'll be in the top 1%.

In the famous words of Bridget Bridgegate Kelly: "Is it wrong that I'm smiling?"

Thank God I only have Duke making it to the elite 8 so perhaps I can recover later.

This is doubly troubling for me. Living near Duke I am naturally a fan. My #2 team, in terms of fandom, is 'Cuse. The rest of my family lives near Syracuse. My FB page is lighting up with unkind comments! And, although I'm sure none of them would admit it, they too are among the 97-98% of folks who picked Duke to win that one.

Brackets of a CGA graduate are about to get very ugly.

Does Dr. Mrs. LITS know her husband bet the ranch on a 9 seed? Our boat has a cuddy cabin if you need a place to sleep til its safe. You can use the sink in the marina men's room to wash up in.

I am getting pms about Bandit's brackets.ACCORDING TO ESPN his stats are 92.5%, rank 824863, and 210 points.

OBTW, I am 54.5%, 4,995,849 and 190 points.

There are no perfect brackets left for the billion dollars....shocking I know.

And Bandit is kicking my butt!!

Stupid me was too busy humming my jingles to get my DS/s picks into mix.
Just got off of the phone with him and he's sitting in the 99% with 23 out of 27 correct picks so far.
His ranking dropped from four thousand something to 32,166 with 230 points after his 4th loss.

He's having way too much fun rooting for his teams to be bothered by me with any questions regarding upcoming EA selections..

What March madness??

Hope you don't mind that I invited him to join SAF group..

OK I just posed this question on the ROTC What makes a truly good leader thread....but I'm going to post it here too because you all will know what I am talking about..

What kind of a leader are you?

It's March Madness, your team is up by 4 points with 3 seconds left.
One of your players fouls the dude taking the 3 point shot for the other team giving them a chance to tie the game and send it into overtime?
Then your team loses in OT by 2 points.

As team captain, the team leader.....What do you say to your team mate who did the fouling????

My own thinking is it's not my place. That's the coaches job. At ost I would say "tough break".

Welcome, MattMaccc1 !
Glad you joined us. The more, the merrier. :thumb:
i just wanna know why LITS picked George Washington to win

Probably did what I did - selected with the heart. My heart selected Duke to win it all but obviously, my head was not in that selection. :frown:

On to the next round!

You've provided little context for your hypothetical, but clearly it calls for compassion and greatness of spirit. So, something along the following lines.

1) "Good thing it wasn't a flagrant foul. Then it would've been the first five point play in history."

2) "I distinctly heard Coach telling you in that last time out: 'We're up by four. Whatever you do, don't foul.' I should probably get my hearing checked."

3) "Things may not be too good for you on campus, so we took up a collection. This $46 should get you a bus ticket as far as Nuevo Laredo. Keep heading south until your brain thaws."

4) "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You harshed my bracket. Prepare to die."

That's why, when there is money involved, I always submit two brackets. One I can let my heart run fairly free but within reason. The second is always cold and calculating. Did I mention there was money involved?

On a more serious note, I watch Florida play Pitt. It's the first time this year I've seen Florida play. Man! That's one impressive team. They're making me doubt the wisdom of my bracketology methodology.

I love people with a good sense of humor. When I asked Matt the same question he got all serious in his response. This is much more fun....

Ok in case I wasn't the only one who hadn't a clue..
What does PPR mean in fantasy basketball?

Possible Points Remaining
Thus the higher PPR number you have the more points you could eventually get ...
Your PPR is based on every one of your picks being correct for the rest of the tournament.

Kansas Takes an Early Hike

Rock, Chalk, Jaywalk

I think Buff just set some sort of record.
