Hi, I was just trying to start a similar thread to that of the Virginia Nominations where we can help share what we know and hear back from nomination sources.

Senator Mikulski has already completed her slates and has notified all of her nomination recipients.

Senator Cardin has set interview dates for all applicants on either December Thursday and Friday (location depends on your #1 choice)

Congressman Delaney has held all interviews and we are just waiting for them to release their nomination recipients.

Please comment and keep this going!

Thanks Laxer98 for making the thread!!!

I was nominated by Senator Mikulski for the Naval Academy and I just got a letter from Congresswoman Edwards saying I received a nomination to West Point.

The odd thing is I never received an interview from Congresswoman Edwards. Did anyone else get a nomination from her as well without an interview?

I haven't heard of any nominations given without interview, congressman Cummings interviews are scheduled in the first week of December

I haven't heard of a nomination with no interview as well. I'm planning to call the office tomorrow or Monday to see what they say. It says on her website that she usually interviews so I'm really curious on what happened this year, good luck on your interview with Congressman Cummings

Congresswoman Edwards is leaving office after running unsuccessfully in the Maryland Democratic primary for US Senator (Mikulski's spot). In past years she and her staff were unresponsive and somewhat uneducated about the nomination process. Since she is not returning to office, she may be just phoning it in. Candidates in her district with questions regarding nominations may have to be quite persistent to get a response. If calls and emails don't work, you may need to visit her Congressional office.

I received a Nomination via my USNA portal today from Congressman Delaney.

Congrats, Laxer

I called Congresswoman Edward's Office asking why I received a West Point Nomination when I put USNA as my first choice. They said because I received a USNA nomination from Senator Mikulski they won't nominate me for the same service academy. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

To all those that have interviewed/will interview tomorrow with Senator Cardin. Best of luck, and may we all do the best we can!

Yellow Jacket, I heard that they would find out by January 31 2017.

The post regarding Cardin candidates finding out was for max950729, not Yellow Jacket.

Hoyer's staff said that their notifications would go out before Christmas. I was told that Cardin's would go out sometime after that but before January 31st.

I'm a junior in high school right now, class of 2022, can I submit a file to the congressmen to try and get ahead?

No. They all have their own process and deadlines. Work on your resume and your speaking skills.

F0r future members here is how my interviews were set up.

Mikulski (although she is retiring) - 5-minute interview (with 2 or 3 person panel)
~ They asked as many questions as they could fit in the 5 minute window.

Cardin - 10 to 15 minute interview (with 2 person panel)
~ Around 5 questions (most centered on what I would do if something happaned.)

Congressman Delaney - 15 minute (with a 6 or 8 person panel)
~ 4 questions (+ followup questions to each)
