Are we allowed to talk to them after mass next Sunday? Originally I was told no but then someone else said after indoc you can talk with them.

And I know that some people on here say to not go and spend as much time there as possible... But we don't plan on abusing the privilege. Plus we were asked to come by our PC.. So how can we say no? Lol

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can talk with them even if only for a few minutes.

Visitation....church or mass

I received this today from the RTO---PARENTS AND FAMILY PLEASE READ!!!!

"I am the Regimental Training Officer this rotation and one of my responsibilities has been revising the plebe standards of conduct. There is one change this year I feel the parents of 2014 should be aware of. Section C(24) of the plebe candidate standards of conduct now reads:

“Plebe Candidates may not have visitors until after Acceptance Day. Exceptions for extreme cases may be made on a case by case basis and must be approved by the Company Officer.”

This includes during and after church on Sundays. In previous years this has been ambiguous, so I wanted to make sure that the parents association was fully aware of it."

PLEASE PLEASE let KP do what needs to be done. They are taking High School Students and making them into Officer Candidates. Let the system do its job!

THaNK YOU, RTO!!! This should have been the way it was last year too but now is better than never.
And thank you KPMOM2011 for posting.

Now will it be enforced? Not my business, just wondering. Rhetorical question. No responses expected.

Good rule

This is really good to hear. We are fortunate and live a reasonable distance from KP (not FLID close). The temptation of making a Sunday visit were tough. We read, understood and agreed with the comments from such knowledgeable folks such as Deepsea and Jasperdog. But there was still that temptation. Sort of like that famous apple. Now it's settled. We will see DS at Parents Weekend and that's a good thing.

Visitation

Yes thank you RTO for sharing this information. We also live a good distance away and there is nothing more we would want to do than to see our DS but to not be able to talk with him would be near to impossible so I will patiently wait until Parents weekend!!
Also would like to thank everyone who has replied to all the questions. Can't tell you how much it has helped.

THey cannot download Skype onto their computer. My DS suggested tinychat.com because he doesn't have to download any program but so far, we have done fine with Facebook. Either leave messages or chat if we are both onat the same time. Yes, we cannot see him but that is okay with me right now. Skype and tinychat allow you to see them and they you, but as I said, Facebook is fine and easier.

I feel so bad about you parents not being able to see your PC until acceptance day! I wouldn't have been able to do it....it was so hard for me to let him go!
