Its finally commitment day; anyone else waiting on the wait list? Does anyone know how long until USNA tends to let those on the wait list know of any word?

DS was placed on the Class 2019 wait list and didn't receive TWE until June 1st...hang in there and best to you.

DS is on the waiting list as well. What happens if he accepts an academic and athletic scholarship to another school and then subsequently receives an appointment off the wait list? Do you happen to know what the obligation would be to his backup school? What is typical or is it dependent upon the individual school? They can't take away his birthday but I am wondering about any other financial obligations.

I'm assuming we would lose the deposit made to the school DS has committed to if he received an appointment off the waitlist, but can't think of any other financial obligations.

It is a good idea to discuss with your Plan B civilian college what you are doing, since many are very understanding with regard to the timing for appointments to SA's. For example, some may refund or waive your 'non-refundable' deposit, but depends on the school. I have never heard of anyone incurring additional expenses for the Plan B school if you eventually accept an appointment to USNA.

You remain on the USNA waitlist until offered an appointment or TWE.
