Has anyone here heard anything about the competitiveness of the MD slate for USNA this year?
Maryland is always competitive, but I will say that the members of congress do their best to get as many MD kids in as possible. We live 7th district and my son almost didnt apply because he knew a set of twins in his district were being recruited. Ends up I know 5 kids from that district (Howard, Centennial, Hebron, and River Hill) that got in in 2018
Don't forget if you get a NOM and you are not the one selected to fill the MOC's spot, your name goes into the national pool for possible selection. In theory all 10 could get in unless there is some strange rule I am not aware of.
The collins twins! They went to my school! Does your son happen to go to River Hill?
No my son attended Mount Hebron, but one of my dear friends (Mrs. Kump) teaches at RH. She was also my son's SAT tutor
On another note, my son is friends with the RH lacrosse player that is a current mid. He and my son played Club LAX together at Zingos
What a small word. I attend river hill and ms. kump was my english teacher at one point!!!
Yes it is a very small world
