Meaning of Status = Conditional

I posted this question under another thread but figured I would start a new one.

DS's Status is now Conditional (changed from App on File).

I assume (having no other documentation or letter) that this means he is green lighted "pending" something?

He is waiting on word of his nomination and we have a DODMERB issue to clear, but this is a good/great news, right?
 
As I understand it, it's very good news! Sounds like he is in, pending resolution of some outstanding issue like DODMERB, CFA, etc.
 
Yes conditional means that you should soon get a TWE (thin white envelope) with an acceptance letter pending completion of something. My DS's was pending 3 items; receiving a nomination, continue getting good grades, and complete his fitness test (CFA). Once these were completed his status was changed to principle.

The CFA is well behind him; his full app has been locked and loaded for several months.

We know for certain that the conditional will include the nomination requirement.

I assume the conditional will require continuation of good grades (this seems like a standard requirement for KP LOAs; I keep telling DS that the 7th Semester is the most critical).

The wild card is the DODMERB issue but that is out of our hands. It is up to the "Waiver Authority" which is "KP Admissions" so I am cautiously optimistic that they will be granting a waiver. He can't fix or remediate the medical; it is a DQ but it is one that does seem to be waived fairly frequently.

I'll followup with some detail when the TWE arrives.
