It just came to my attention that review boards will be meeting to be going over applications very soon.

Here is my problem...

I filled out the pre-candidate questionnaire for West Point. I'd say about a month ago, I received a small packet in the mail that had some envelopes for transcripts and recommendations.
I'm still unsure if I am considered a candidate but at this point I'm assuming I can apply as one.

So I've been waiting to receive another letter for the Medical Examinations and making an appointment. I still haven't received them and I am getting worried.

I had previously gone through these examinations when I applied to the USCGA last year.
I was disqualified then for a heart murmur (I have not had any problems with it. And I have been involved in Track & Field and Cross-country through-out high school without any sign of irritation). But I was not offered a waiver for one reason or another. I assumed it was because I did not have competitive SAT scores then.

Could that have been the reason for not receiving a waiver?
And is that the same reason why I haven't heard anything from West Point (because I'm not competitive enough and they don't want to waste their time)?

I'm going to try and call DoDMERB to see if I'm just disqualified, and thats all there is to it, or if I can receive a waiver. I came here first to see if I could find an answer seeing as how it is too late to contact them right now.

If I remember correctly a DODMERB physical is good for two years. So if you had one last year they would not have you do it again this year.

To get the most accurate answer regarding your medical status send an email with your full name, last 4 of SSN, and your question to: Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil.

Good luck!
