My DS received a letter from USMA that he had been granted full medical waivers. Does this mean an appointment may be on the way? He already has an appointment from USNA but he received an LOA before the medical waivers. I have no military background but was told they only seek medical waivers for those they wish to give an appoitment to?? Any info appreciated.

It is a good sign, but no guarantee. They process all competitive candidates for waivers. There will be candidates who are 3Q and nominated, but don't get an appointment. Does he have a LOE? Good luck!

Waiver

Just curious how long it took you to get a waiver, we are waiting. Also, is your DS a principle nominee? That greatly increased appointment chances from what I have heard. But you never know!

Yeah I heard it does too. In fact it increases the chances to 100% provided you are qualified.

So, what if your the principle nominee trying to get a waiver? Does the chance of getting a waiver increase?

No. Other than having the opportunity to be considered for a medical waiver, the waiver process is independent from any influence of the candidate's competitiveness.
