I recently found out that I am medically disqualified. I have a history of hydronephrosis (dilation of the kidneys). I had kidney surgery when I was 11 months old and bladder surgery when I was 3 years old. I have not had any complications or problems since my last surgery in May of 1994. I have already sent a form to USAFA requesting a waiver. Does anyone know anything about medical waivers and what I can do about my situation? Also, how likely is it to receive a waiver?

Thank you!!

Feel free to go through all the posts here. Tons of great information. All waivers are considered equally, and the complete medical history will be reviewed. You can always submit any information that you feel may be helpful to the waiver authorities. All information should be sent to DoDMERB.

The one item that I strongly suggest all applicants who are in a disqualified status do, is to write a letter explaining the issue in their words, what happened, what treatment was received, what activities they participate in currently and how the disqualification affects those activities, if at all.
