My mom and I read this together today. Very good speech for anyone to read. Thought I would post it up here for anyone who missed it.

I had a chance to see it streamed earlier today; I was impressed. It was a wonderfully done speech IMO.

We enjoyed her speech and had a great time. Our table wasn't far from the podium but our view of it was blocked by a pillar so we had to watch her speak on the monitor. As things were wrapping up I noticed many secret service agents near our table. Right before Mrs. Obama left one agent leaned into our table and said to get my camera ready. She was exiting right past our table! I got a picture of her passing about 10 feet away from us. She is prettier in person, TV doesn't do her justice.

Mrs. Obama's speech was moving. Her comments to the parents of the graduating cadets that:

"So, to the parents: I can only imagine the joy you’ll feel tomorrow when you see your sons and daughters in their officer’s uniforms for the first time. I can only imagine the pride that comes from knowing that your kids are the kind of kids that everyone dreams of raising.

But as a parent, I can also imagine what else might be on your mind tonight. All of you read the news. All of you understand what your children have signed up for. You know what their next assignment is, and in the back of your mind, you’re wondering where the assignments after that might take them."

were so on point that you could hear the sniffles and see the tears from around Washington Hall.

I sat with some folks in Washington Hall that didn''t like Mrs. Obama prior to the speech and questioned why Mrs. Obama was giving the speech. After Mrs. Obama concluded her speech one woman commented, "Damn, now I am going to have to like Mrs. Obama...that speech was a home run." For those that complained publically before the speech was given about the appropriateness of Mrs. Obama as the banquet's speaker, the speech was not political in any way. Take the time to read the speech above, or watch it on the West Point web site. I think you will be impressed. The same is true of Admiral Mullen's speech at Graduation and the two speeches tied together nicely.

    Folks,

The www.westpoint.edu website did post video of the Graduation Parade, The Banquet, and the Graduation Ceremony.

If any of you visited the website and found it difficult to view the videos,
or could not tolerate the long download times before being able to view any
of them, there is now an alternative.

I received permission from the Public Affairs office to download, convert,
and repost the videos to a video streaming website that offers provisions
for better streaming over various internet connections, as well as the
ability to view on mobile devices like the iPad and smartphones.

Viewable by Windows, Mac OS, and even by some internet TVs.

    Here are the links. Enjoy:
