I understand that we will run one-half of a mile out and one-half of a mile back for our CFA. But is it marked at one-quarter of a mile? If it is, it would be easier to check our pace and see if we need to pick it up. Thanks.

My son's CFA was admistered by a soccer coach at his high school. He ran the mile on the high school track. Good to get split times at the 1/4 marks (each lap) to keep yourself on a good pace. Toughest part for him was managing the 95 degree heat in Maryland that day!

No it isn't marked and nobody will tell you your split. Figure out what a mile feels like before you go and you will be fine.

At SLS, there is no quarter mile marking. However if you take the CFA again with your gym coach at home, you can run it on a track so you could pace yourself better.

I thought the CFA Intructions say the test can only be administered by a PE teacher or a military officer but not by a coach who is neither...

In several states, HS Coaching and PE teaching credentials are mutually inclusive; which would therefore be in line with CFA instructions.
