what does each SA issue the new students/cadets? Does anyone have any pictures? Do the SAs give new school backpacks - asking because I'm not sure if it's worth it to buy a brand new bag a few months before college. Thanks!

Which SA are you asking about? At USNA they do issue a North Face backpack. Not sure about the others. Honestly I wouldn't buy one ahead of time. If they don't issue it, they will have what a Mid or Cadet uses at the store on campus. It will be cheaper, no tax and within regs if you buy it there.
