What are the repercussions for a C4C not making it back to the academy by the prescribed time due to delayed, cancelled or missed flight?

    Late back to base

    Hi
I would assume if it was something that was out of your control and you made the proper calls, all would be well. This was how it was when I served in the Navy many many years ago.
    Regards
    John

It may depend on his squadron. Not really sure.

My buddy's flight got delayed and he didn't get back till 9 on Sunday night. He just told me to tell the Superintendent and he allowed me to go pick him up. If it's out of the cadet's control, then they can't really do anything.

Just to clarify for those unaware of cadet rank structure - that is the cadet squadron superintendent (C2C), NOT the USAFA Supe. Just in case someone gets wide-eyed and wonders. :)

Can't speak for USAFA but USNA typically requires that flights be scheduled to arrive a certain number of hours before leave expires. If you do that and your flight is delayed, no problem. If you cut it closer than allowed, there could be repercussions.

I spoke with my son. He is a 1st Sgt in his cadet Squadron. He said that as long as they call there should be no problem.

    Suspended Punishment on Form 10

I was caught in an Iowa snowstorm driving back to the Zoo from one Spring Break. Better to be safe, we stopped at a hotel. And then I called my AOC.

He issued me a AFCW Form 10 with demerits, but suspended punishment for "good judgement." I just kept my nose clean for the rest of the semester and it was gone from his files.

The key action is to tell someone before you are late.
