My daughter graduated in May 2011. She was suppose to depart for Basic in July 2011. She seemed so determined that this was what she wanted and she couldn't wait to get in. She had already received her job which would have been Linguistic. However, we found out in April that she was pregnant and her plans to join the AF changed. Needless to say she got married to the father of the child in October and had the baby in November 2011. Now, she is requesting a divorce from the father and wants to see if she still has the opportunity to go to the AF. She hasn't spoken back with her recruiter yet but I am just wondering whether she threw away any chances of the Linguistic career and her placement in the AF when she gave it up before. Anyone familiar with this type issue I would sure appreciate your comments...

I am not sure you will get the advice you are looking for on this forum.

This forum is geared toward Service Academies and ROTC programs for students that are seeking a commission as an officer in the military.

It seems your question is regarding enlistment. It would be best to have your daughter talk with her recruiter. You may want to try and find a forum that deals with enlisted personell.

The one thing I can say is that there will be an issue with the fact that she will be a single parent, this will be something to talk with a recruiter about.

Thanks for responding. I appreciate your comments. Clarksonarmy, I especially found some hope in the article you posted. Thanks again as I try to find an "enlisted" forum that is as informative as this forum is to posters. :thumb:

Although, she is enrolled and attending community college but they do not have ROTC on the campus that she attends. Instead of going on to AF at graduation she went to college.
