Missing my kid!

You sure did! I texted you yesterday. Did you get it? Is tomorrow RDay for CGAS? It was on Sunday last year - July 27th! (later too) Probably the dates are dictated by when NMMI starts. We are staying in Mystic as we pass through on our way to Rockport, to hopefully see our swab on the Eagle
(and to take lots of pictures of swabs!)

:frown:Sorry I never got a text :frown: Thats a bummer..

I got some videos of Swbas and will/am posting them on Facebook. The only Company I know for sure is Bravo CO. they walked up the Chase hall stairs right next to me.. I got a few other groups and even some Aimsters.. but only a couple of times on the AIMSTERS did I see their Company flag.

Funny story as I went into the CGX I came across Charlie CO. of AIMSTERS I chatted with them and as who came the farthest, they all pointed to a girl from Washington, she said she was from a small town outside of Olympia.. I requested more information and she told me Yelm.. I laughed ans asked her if she knew my niece.. I think she would of fallen over IF she wouldnt of been sitting on the floor LOL... I took her picture and bid her farwell....

J Collins;
I saw you taking pictures of the Aimsters downstairs of the commissary. We were in a hurry so I didn't get a chance to stop and introduce myself. We are also from the Seattle area. My son was 3rd session Foxtrot. We're heading back there shortly to pick him up.

I have posted on my facebook some of the pics, ran out of time and will get some more videos up that I made... keep in mind I am an not movie maker, but I filmed instead of still photo'd. Where from the Seattle area?

3 days into missing her and I am okay.... she is sending me good vibes... :)

Although I feel badly for those who are missing their swabs, I am extrememly happy to have my 3/c back for 3 weeks after a long summer or training.

I'm not missing my swab any longer! I spent the weekend with her (actually, I saw her on Saturday on Eagle & spent all of Sunday with her). She is doing great - a little hoarse sounding, but otherwise great. My son & I ferried her and two friends around for their first day of liberty - we went to see the Harry Potter movie (you should have seen the row of swabs sitting in the theater texting for three hours :rolleyes:- not sure they actually saw much of the movie), went to Coldstone for ice cream and spent most of the rest of the day in my hotel room, watching TV, eating popcorn and using my computer to catch up with everyone.
It was great to listen to them telling stories about the last month and to see them interacting so politely with the public around Rockland, Me. You could see that they are still uncomfortable when people thank them for their service. My D had to tell her friends how to respond (she has encountered this before since she was in Prep school last year & in CG uniform when flying). They all were very psyched about their upcoming week on Eagle too! All in all, it was well worth the 9+ hour drive (broken up into a couple of days each way by stopping to get in some beach time)!:wink:

Okay I was okay, until I got that call Tuesday telling me my girl was in the ER.... yesterday was no news, but she was in the clinic (although I did get to talk to her, from someone's cell phone (SHHHH) ).. Today I got a call from her PA, Joyce got another ride to the ER last night for pain... this time the diagnosis was a UTI.......

the PA I spoke to said it is common (especially with hydration changes), but it's a first for Joyce. The PA said she had just seen her in the clinic and she is much better, and was sitting up and even eating! Thank God! I can't even tell you the relief I feel now..

As long as the hospital got it right and the antibiotics and anti-inflammatory meds work she will stay in the clinic today and should be back with her company tomorrow morning..

Her Cadre called me yesterday and told me that Joyce was doing great and completed her PFE run even with all the pain, as she wouldnt stop.. (Joyce had told me her Cadre ran it with her)... I was imagining the scene from an Officer and a Gentleman when Richard Gere ran with the girl on the Obstacle Course.. it made me smile, and warmed my heart... Kudos to the Cadre for the call and staying by Joyce's side at the ER)!

I hope this two days of illness doesnt complicate her CGAS program, as I know that would just devistate her.

But I would suggest that the Hippa paperwork should be included in the paperwork that parents and the kids sign....:shake: would of made things a lot easier for all involved.
