MN seems under represented ... thoughts?

Do not see any appointments from Minnesota (MN) yet.

I know that our senators came in late (very end of Jan) so am wondering if they tend to do a state all at once or if anyone has any insight as to how this might work in that regard. Maybe MN kids just aren't into/onto this forum is one thought. Also ...USAFA has 2 MN appointments, USNA has 0 MN too.

Other thoughts?

It is my understanding that the Congressmen/Senators have a limit of available slots at each academy. If upperclassmen are filling many of those, there are few available for new appointments. The size of the class appointments form each district/ State would vary year by year. Our Congressional office (Walz) told us this in years past.

Everyone who gets an appointment isn't necessarily a member on this forum. Some people also just participate anonymously and perhaps don't care to indicate where they are from. I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Perhaps just seemingly under represented on this board. By law, all states are well represented in the admissions process. Have you Googled appointments for your state? Some reps release their lists, some do not. (A bone of contention in the media this time last year.)

Have you reached out to the MN Parents club? Most states have one so I am assuming that your state has one. This is one way to connect with other MN cadets.

It was through our state's parent club that we learned that another boy in our town was also offered a spot at WP. The two young ended up connecting and then decided to meet on the weekends to exercise together to prep for Beast.

Helicopter Mom, I sent a pm to you regarding my MN district. I know this is the USMA thread, but according to the USNA newsletter for MN, "In the class of 2020 hopefuls, Minnesota had a total of 73 candidates for the USNA, 27 of which 'triple-Q'd' . . . As of [February], 12 offers had been issued by the Academy as well as one offer to attend NAPS. Seven candidates have accepted to date." http://usnaaaumw.com/resources/Documents/USNAAA UMW Newsletter - Winter 2016.pdf

Thank you all for the info and resources! Much appreciated!

Minnesota parents club? I guess I'll Google that one. : )
