MOC Luncheon with all Nominees in April?!

My DS was just invited to a luncheon with all nominees but it is happening in 1st week of April. Is this normal? What's the protocol? Do you still attend if one gets TWE before the luncheon? Grateful for the MOC's nomination for my DS but hopefully no TWEs on or before the luncheon so it is not awkward to decline/attend. NB. DS is still in waiting status for all 3 SAs. No news is good news so far.

Consider it as an honor for being nominated by your MOC. Attend the event by all means regardless of the outcome of the application (which is decided by SA).
 
It’s a recognition of their nomination. Not a celebration of an appointment. Unless the invitation indicates to not come if a TWE is received, the appointment has nothing to do with this.

Nominating sources are an important piece of the application. Receiving a nomination is competitive in and of itself. And you may be applying to them again, for their nomination, should you reapply. I personally would jump at the chance to connect and make a good impression.

Definitely an honor! We are grateful for our MOC's nomination. It's the timing that made me wonder what to do in case of TWE.

Yes, an opportunity to thank the MOC personally whatever the outcome. Not sure about next round as we might move to another state due to work.

I remember you said you were from VA, which district if you don't mind me asking? I haven't heard anything from Wexton since December so I was curious, Thanks.
 
IF an applicant got a TWE, has no intention of reapplying and has decided on a Plan B school, I doubt think there is much point in attending this luncheon. It is mostly a PR thing for the MOC. If you want to go to rub elbows with those in attendance is entirely up to you. I doubt that 100% of those invited can attend for any number of reasons.

Exactly I think how we will feel when TWE comes in first before the luncheon. Hope they had it early Feb when everyone is still excited and in the waiting game. Hoping, waiting and praying for good news and then it will be a truly luncheon celebration.
