No wait list, rejection or acceptance yet. MOC office called last week to invite son and parents to meet congressman next Friday. Is this good news?

Is it a personal one-on-one meeting or one of those town hall things? If it's the former then I would definitely take it as good news (even though most MOCs inform you of an appointment over the phone).
 
sounds like a good thing. A few MOC get every one they nominated to a get together (accept DS's) but I think that is a formal thing and he would have said that was what it was. I think this is good news. Hey he might tell you that you are getting the principal or that he is saying to re apply next year and he would give you one next year. Whatever it is, go and enjoy! Not many kids get a one on one!
 
I suppose you could always ask one of the MOC's staffers about the purpose of the meeting.

I am sorry for the TWE for ?USNA , but the USMA sounds like a photo op for the candidate and the elected official. In the photo could be candidate getting his appointment! Good luck! Good to hear positive news. GO NC!
 
It was just a planned luncheon with all nominees. Cancelled because of budjet issues. On USMA NWL - offered accepted 5/4 - off to West Point!
