Thank you for this forum and for all who offer up rich information and experiences! I've searched and cannot seem to find info on the following question. I'm hoping someone might have some insight.

Is it possible for 2 applicants from 1 family to win an NROTC scholarship? The scholarship's financial benefits are attractive, of course, but DS sees it as his path to commissioning. He will be a HS senior this year and has had his sights set on serving for a long, long time. In fact, his enthusiasm over the years even rubbed off on DD. She was awarded a scholarship starting this fall. I don't see anything that would limit him from applying, and he can stand on his own merit, but I wonder if a previous award to a sibling might hurt his chances upon final board review. Should he focus on other sources of commissioning? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Many moons ago, my NROTC unit had twin brothers. Both on scholarship.

As with college admissions, it can only help unless the one already admitted is at risk of failing.

In the AFROTC at my DS's college, twin brothers attended on scholorship.

FWIW, I had both my kids in AROTC at the same time (2 years apart). :thumb:

Yes, you can have more than one ROTC scholarship per family. I have two sons who were both awarded an NROTC-MO scholarship and to the same school (The Citadel) of which one has already graduated and the second is starting his Junior year....good Luck and word of advice is to apply to all ROTC scholarships (NROTC, AROTC, AFROTC)....Good Luck and best wishes....
