:thumb:Got the TWE last year about this time. As advised, went to a 4 year university, enrolled in NROTC MO college program, aerospace engineering major, earned a superior GPA, excellent CFA scores, worked very hard year round for an appointment. When the sequester cuts dropped in, I was informed by the MOI NROTC MO scholarships would be extremely limited and that it is very unlikely I will receive a commission through NROTC, as college programmers would be disenrolled after sophomore year(same for Navy option). Therefore, I had a ton weighing on my USNA application. Unfortunately, I received the TWE again today, again advising me to enroll in a university and excel in technical courses and pursue NROTC (reading this actually made me chuckle a bit).

So as of now, my options are either OCS or AF ROTC and try to earn a commission there. My goal is to be a military officer, and AF is my third choice. I'm a bit creeped out that I am handling today's news so well.

To any high schoolers who got the TWE- the TWE makes you a stronger person if you can push past it. I know my last TWE motivated me and the TWE I got today just added more fuel to my fire.

My only request is maybe USNA could send the next TWE before a PFT? I know frustration always improves my score. haha. I kid, I kid.

Thank you for your insight!! I received my TWE this afternoon but 100% plan on reapplying next year after a year at a 4yr college

Sorry to hear the news, but it sounds like you have the right attitude. I am nearing the completion of my sophomore year of civilian college, and I received the dreaded TWE again yesterday. Like you said, it makes you a stronger person and provides even more motivation to earn a commission. I plan to meet with my USMC OSO to discuss PLC for the summer of 2014. Best of luck to those still waiting and congratulations to everyone who has earned an appointment!
