"The move will take place in three primary phases," said Johnson. "Initially we will use a giant crane to lift the building onto a barge in the Potomac River. From there we will float the barge down the Atlantic Coast and into the Gulf of Mexico. Then, we will sail the Pentagon up the Mississippi River to just south of St. Louis. In the final stage, we will place the building on large flat-bed trucks and drive it the rest of the way."
"All of the employees will basically be expected to pack as if they were going on a two-week trip and they will then remain in the building for the duration of the move,"

Hahaha I'm glad the military has a sense of humor for April Fool's!

For a second there when I saw the thread title, I thought CRAP, we will have 2 kids in college (MD and VATECH), 1 in HS and I HAVE TO MOVE AGAIN?:jaw:

Off topic, but I was driving this morning and flipping channels, Laura Ingram was on and it took me a few minutes to process that it was April Fools. She was going on about the Hedge Fund mgr with a 35K sqft home and how Michelle was leaving less of a carbon footprint...okay I can go with that...then she went on about Geithner and getting over his tax issues because he has higher priorities...Okay, maybe she is changing her program to be more mainstream....then she defended Barney Franke and Fannie Mae...immediately I said to myself OH it is APRIL 1st. It was funny to listen to though because callers were taking her seriously since she didn't drop the act. One asked if her health was fine (she had breast cancer yrs back) because they thought she was on pain pills. It was the funniest show ever...republicans were wound up tighter than you could imagine and dems truly believed she was the next Stephanie Miller/Randi Rhodes.

Remember the April Fools from a couple of years ago that was an "article" about putting female sailors on submarines?
LOL

When I first read the headline, my initial thought process went a little like this:
"Hey, maybe it's a pretty good idea. Strategically located in the center of the country, and away from Washington politics. Good old Army" :tank:

The fact that it took me reading all the way to the end to realize it was a joke officially confirms I am the most gullible person in the world. I'm slightly embarrassed.

It took me reading USMA's post (I read that before the article).

Eh, no matter. We're still two future military officers

Well, then it can be by Google! Anyone go to the Google homepage today either? Particularly funny for us since my husband has been spending a lot of time in Topeka for work!
