My son received word that the Commander of a MSISR school has nominated him for a 4 year NROTC scholarship. That nomination goes to FL for review the week of July 21. Does anyone know how confident he should be about getting the scholarship based on the Commanders nomination versus the review board in FL? My son was told there were only three scholarships available and he was nominated for one of them. Thank you.

If it is anything like ISR (Immediate Scholarship Reservation), then the Commander's recommendation is rubber stamped in Pensacola.

What school did your son get nominated for the MSISR Scholarship? MSISR Scholarship is 100% depending on the Commander's nomination. Because the MSISR scholarship winner must attend the school that he/she had nominated. Your son will get it....Congrats!

That sounds like great news so far! Thank you both for replying. He was nominated at the University of New Mexico. He will study Computer Science. Here's to a few more weeks of waiting for the final word!!

And FYI to anyone wondering about MSISR schools and scholarships, you DO NOT have to be a minority to earn the NROTC scholarship.
