Today I received my congressman's nomination and last week I received my senator's nomination both to USMA. My senator uses a competitive slate and I am waiting to hear what kind of nomination my congressman uses.

I was wondering if having two nominations increases my chances for appointment, and what exactly does it mean that i was nominated by both my congressman and senator for the same SA?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations!

This is a great achievement!

Now...what are your chances? To be honest...2x that of most folks. Why do I say that?

Because you're now competing for one slot of each: senator and representative. There are 10 nominees for each...so you have a 10% chance, provided ALL of you are fully qualified.

Does it give you a better chance? Not really...well...sorta...you would have normally been 1 of 10...10%...now you're 2 of 20...10%...see what I mean?

BUT...it also means if you're not chosen to fill either slot, you're in the alternate pool...in TWO categories...that is a good thing!!!

This is GOOD, don't try to read into it too much...the SA's will make the call...all you can do is keep working toward the goal!!! :thumb:
