As I just received my second nomination from Senator Corker, I wanted to know if being double nominated helps your application and if so, how? Also, I heard that the Naval Academy reviews their applicants state by state. Is this true and is there a specific order if so?

It's helps because it gives you more chances to get in. Such as if you don't get an appointment under your MOC you have another chance of getting an appointment under your Senator.

How lucky you are, TN.waiting. I was under the impression, according to Senator Alexander's letter, that no one was doing double nominations in TN. We didn't hear from Corker, so I guess we will get a reject letter if anything. Who do you get another nom from, if you don't mind? I know you must be a wonderful candidate to be so fortunate!

I recieved a nomination from Blackburn, and the letter I got from Alexander said they don't double nominate. I'm assuming his other is presedential- that's what mine are.

No problem, and in case you're not familiar the Presidential is awarded to those of career militsry vets, not awarded based on merit. Best of luck to your kid.

Ya... I finally got that part down. This is certainly a whole different world!! I think those of us who received the letters from alexanders office about not dually nominating were just wondering what, if any, the reasoning would be that some would and some would not receive them (kind of like reading tea leaves at this point). I'm thinking we will receive a very similar letter (to the one Alexander sent) from Corker at some point this week. Thanks for the good wishes and good luck to u too!

Got the letter from Corker today~ just like Alexander he does not dually nominate if you already have One from your MOC so we will celebrate the one She has & continue the great wait!!
