Hello,
I am currently a freshman in college after not receiving an appointment last spring. I am studying mechanical engineering, and just recently got a 4.0 while taking Chemistry, Calculus, Freshman English, and Intro to Engineering. I was a 2 sport varsity athlete in high school, varsity baseball captain, National Honors Society Member, Key Club member with 200+ volunteer hours, #9 in graduating class of 250. I scored a 700 on Math and 620 on Reading SAT. On the CFA, I ran a 6:35 mile, 18 pullups, 68 push ups, 75 sit ups, 8.24 shuttle run, 90 foot throw. Medically qualified with a senatorial nomination. Wondering what my chances may be? Thanks for any info or help!

Depends on the competition on your slate but I would say that in general your stats look impressive to me. The one thing that did jump out was I would have expected you to list 5 courses for your freshman year but perhaps Intro to Engineering is a 4 hour course? I'm sure Chem is.

My course load was Story of Jesus (Bible Class), Chem 1, Chem Lab, Calculus, Freshman English, Intro to Engineering, and Into to Engineering Lab! And I am in Maine

Where is your BFE?! Your package seems to be very strong, perhaps the run could have been a bit quicker(not a game changer by any means), may I ask what district of Maine you are in? I would figure 1st but I feel like 2nd would hold little competition. Usually having Calculus and higher level science helps and you obviously have above average test scores. I have no idea how ME MOC's have filled their slate regarding USNA.

Yes, I am in the first district, appointed by Senator King! Hoping I get a BFE soon!! :)

I am also a reapplicant, applying from a military college.

I have an 800 R and 690 M SAT, 3.85 GPA while taking:

Composition, Advanced Multivariable Calculus, Chinese History, Chem, Chem Lab, and Information Systems. I was a 3-sport varsity athlete in HS and my dad is a USNA grad. I also played college football last semester. I have 1 nomination and have not received an appointment yet.

My CFA is as follows:

max pullups, max pushups, max situps, 6:00 1 mi, and 9 sec shuttle.

I have not received an appointment yet either!

Futuremid, I hope you get a BFE this year. Thanks for sharing your stats. It is good for all of us reading the forum to see how competitive some districts can be.
