    Hello!
As I think I made obvious, my name is Tyler. (I would have put SergeantRick, as a reminder of my time in JROTC, but I don't want people to think I am an actual Sergeant.) I am a sophomore in high school. I have had the dream of attending the United States Naval Academy since I was 6. No kidding. Okay, I lied, my introduction is NOT glorious, as this is all it is. In any case, I am glad to have finally joined the forum!

    Tyler

P.S. I am willing to change my username to something else, I'll just need to think of a good name.

    Relyt? lol.

Welcome to the forums, and good luck on your quest for a USNA appointment!

I myself am a USMA candidate. Hopefully we'll meet during a football game. With the Army winning, of course.

    Nah kidding. Good luck!

Remember, JROTC is a youth program so don't take it that seriously. And don't show up in a JROTC uniform for an overnight at any SA, unless you want to be laughed at behind your back by the cadets/mids.

    Welcome Aboard.

I understand the importance (or lack thereof) of JROTC. I just liked it, I would never think of showing up in uniform.

Welcome to the forum Tyler. Lots of great information on here to help you reach your goal of attending USNA. Obviously I am biased, but I think USNA is the greatest school out there! Tons of great info on athletics, academics, community service, etc to help build your portfolio going forward are on these pages. If possible take a look and try to attend STEM next summer also. Be a great chance to spend some time on The Yard! Best of luck.

Thank you for the warm introduction (can't expect THAT at Plebe Summer, now can I?). If I may ask, what is STEM? I'm assuming it is a college visit of some sort?

STEM is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Alot of colleges have these programs, but if USNA is your goal it is a great way to see the Academy! Here is the link to the USNA STEM program...
