Just wondering, a person I know was offered NAPS. I know him well and know that he never played high school sports, never took AP classes, much less physics, chemistry, calculus, did poor on the CFA (he said that), did not receive a nomination and has average grades and ACT of 25. He said his only extra-curricular was Class President and some volunteer work. Also said his dad was in the Navy at some point.

My question... is this unusual or the typical profile of a NAPS candidate?

My DD is on the NAPS wait list and has 10 varsity letters from 3 sports. 30 on her Act's. Officer for one of her 4 honor societies (Spanish, art, science, and NHS) hundreds of hours of volunteer work and has been a life guard abs swim lesson coach for 3 years. She will also graduate with her Associates before high school. 1st in her class (high schoo) abs top honors (college) Her down fall was no AP courses offered at her school. Her fitness level was slightly above average. Idk..... it's all a crap shoot to me.

hopefull for all

Made this post a while back.

In case anyone is wondering, I have a GPA of approximately 3.62, my class rank is 2nd out of 9. My ACT scores were 34 English; 28 Math; 33 Reading; 34 Science; and 29 English/Writing. My SAT scores were 680 Math, 670 Writing, and 640 Reading. I know you don't need a nomination for USNAPS, but for informative purposes for readers of this post, I did not receive a nomination of any kind to USNA.
