Does anyone know when the majority of NAPS appointments go out? I've heard that they can span from Dec-May. Was just curious if anyone knows if most have already been offered a slot to NAPS by this point...thanks for any input. Obviously, I'm one of the ones hoping for an appointment. Good-luck to all those out there who, like me, are still waiting!

I received my acceptance to NAPS on December 9th. I believe they are being sent out now!

I was not a recruited athlete btw- my C in calculus got me into NAPS

Helmet0204,
First, congrats on receiving your appt to NAPS! That's awesome and I know you must be psyched. I'm glad to hear that you aren't a recruited athlete but do you mind if I ask, are you either prior enlisted or a minority? I was told that since I am none of the above it would make it harder to get a slot at NAPS (this coming from blogs online). My GPA is 3.9 but my math SAT score was low. My dad is a usna grad, class of '89 so I'm praying that helps my chances but I doubt that has much weight. Anyhow, I hope to be as fortunate as you and maybe, if I'm lucky, I'll see you in Newport this summer. If you don't mind what kind of things did you have on your resume? Also, did you have much contact with an admissions councilor? I've been in touch with my B & G officer some but not anyone directly from admissions. This is some of my resume : I was Varsity Capt of my cross country team and attended NASS session 1, Leadership Academy, VP of NHS, varsity Tennis and Boys State delegate. Some community service projects and volunteer work as well. I took pre-cal last year and am in Calculus this year. I did not take physics so i'm worried that might hurt my chances too. I did take AP Chemistry last year and pulled a high B but I probably should have taken Physics. Good-luck to you and congrats on this awesome opportunity!

so I do know some about NAPS and though I would love to be accepted to USNA I was wondering what is it usually that makes the academy decide to send u to NAPS rather than USNA or just not accepting you. if that makes any sense? (i had trouble wording it lol)

Isn't NAPS for those that are right on the border of being academically sufficiently prepared to succeed at the Academy? NAPS assumes that with a year of preparation, especially in Math and Science, you're good to go with the rigors of the academic life at the Academy. Caveat: with certain high profile athletes, it may not even be a case of "borderline" -- it may be far below the cutoff.

I was just accepted into NAPS on January 31 and it says stuff has to be in by July 15th so I'm guessing now until May maybe

I was accepted to NAPS too. Just so you know, admissions has to receive your acceptance packet (some paperwork should have been included with your acceptance letter) no later than May 1. When you say July 15, you must be thinking of your proof of citizenship (via birth certificate, etc.) that must be received by that date.
