Someone asked me a question I did not know the answer to this afternoon.......what tuition, fees, etc are associated with attending NAPS?

There are none required from your personal pocket. However, a NAPS attendee is an additional $75,000 investment of the U.S. Government

The above information is not entirely correct. The following (taken from the NAPS paperwork sent to all students) states the fees for the current class of 2010.

"While at NAPS, you will have three significant bills. First, you will have a one time Battalion Activity Committee Fee (BAC Fund) of $900.00; this is to cover the yearbook, physical fitness gear, various awards, your graduation, and other student activity expenses. NAPS can accept cash, checks and credit cards.

The second bill will be approximately $650.00 for your textbooks. It is desired that you pay the BAC Fund on your day of arrival at NAPS and you will receive a $50 discount if paid in full. However, this bill will be paid by Thanksgiving weekend of the school year through direct withdrawal from your paycheck if necessary. Since textbook costs vary, there will be a textbook fee refund in the fall.

Finally, your initial uniform issue will be approximately $875.00-$1,200.00. Either of the above bills can be paid in full at the start of the school year."

Hope that helps!

Thank you. I had a parent asking....they thought it cost $25,000 +. I was pretty sure it did not, but didn't want to make a mistake of that magnitude!

I have referred them to the Prep School page as well. Thanks for the good info.

If someone were to get a Foundation scholarship v. an appointment to NAPS, that could involve the type of money you mention if the Foundation scholarship doesn't fully cover the cost of school.
