NASS 2010 Acceptance Thread

Acceptance letter made it to our house in Wisconsin also! My son will be attending Session two at NASS. Will also be attending session two at Air Force. Getting airfare to make that work should be interesting to say the least.
 
Congratulations to everyone!!!!! My son is still waiting.
Just wondering.... everyone has received through regular mail I 'm guessing, but did you also receive a letter through e-mail?
 
No, nothing through email yet. And I know everyone else has said the 15th, but my son's was dated the 15th inside, but postmarked the 16th.
 
Just a note to those not accepted. Do NOT despair. Receiving a NASS turndown doesn't mean you aren't competitive for USNA. If it's your dream, don't give up.

Your BGO MAY (and I emphasize MAY) be able to find out why you were turned down by calling CGO. Even w/o this info, keep your eye on the prize. Look at your package and determine if you have weaknesses -- it may simply be a numbers game. You have the rest of this year, this summer, and the fall semester to address them (if any).

I know a young man who was turned down for NASS and now is triple Q'ed with 2 noms. There is definitely hope and possibility.
 
Just curious: Was it a thick or thin envelope? Did it contain other paperwork that needed to be filled out?
 
It was a plain, thin, standard sized envelope. It only has two pieces of paper in it. And all the paperwork you need to fill out, you have to download it from a page on the USNA admissions site, print it, fill it, and then mail it. Economical, no? Their letter is even made of recycled paper! If you hold it up to a light, you can see a watermark that says so!

Exactly, that's what my mind set should have been. And good job on getting into the AFSS!
 
I got home this morning and my NASS acceptance was on the counter! Unfortunately I can't go, I'll be on a boat trip. To everyone who's going, have fun! To everyone who's still waiting, good luck!
 
My son's acceptance letter arrived today! It took it a long time to make it to Eastern NC! I've been holding my breath for days now! He will be going to SLS Session 1 and NASS Session 1! Congratulations to all! :thumb:
 
We're in Nevada and son's acceptance came today for second session! Relief all around ... big brother is finishing Plebe year ...!

Just updating here! We went ahead and registered him online, paid the fee, bought airfare, and filled out all the forms. Just have to get the medical one notarized Monday and we'll mail them in!
