Okay I'm aware people have already been accepted to Summer Seminar.
If you're willing to share, has anyone already not been accepted?
I haven't heard anything yet.
Thanks!

My DS has not heard either way. He just got back from a CVW invite. He said that none of the Plebes he was with had attended NASS. He's still hoping to go but understands to keep pushing forward and not put too much thought into NASS acceptance or denial. Good luck!

I have not heard anything back either. I'm remaining hopeful but I'm not going to be surprised if I get a denial.

Exactly. NASS is nice don't get me wrong, but don't read too much into a rejection if it comes.

AF posts videos of their SS, I was pretty surprised as a LOT of those kids would never pass a CFA. I saw some boys that couldn't do a single push-up.

Not trying to be mean, just being real. Unfortunately a lot of those kids take slots that should probably go to others.

If you do go, be in shape.

I agree, was thinking though, how would they ever know if someone was in shape or not looking at an application unless they're athletes. I've even seen fat body athletes

They don't know because there is not a PT test prior to NASS. Remember it is more of a test for the candidate to see if a SA is the right fit more than anything else. A candidate likes what they see, goes home and spends 3 months working out and passes the CFA. It's to open a candidates eyes to what USNA and a larger extent what a SA lifestyle is all about. It helps a candidate explore and learn about military service.

I'm pretty sure my kid took the CFA at NASS. It was a relief to have that part done, and he didn't have to take it later at home. If you go, keep that in mind and be prepared for it. I think I read somewhere that NASS is not even included in extra points for your application, so don't worry if you don't go.

Do not be too concerned if your son or daughter gets a rejection letter to NASS. My son received one (we think because he didn't have any ACT or SAT scores to report) and had one of the first LOA's the following year (end of September). My daughter had almost the exact same qualifications (except she had SAT and ACT scores) and was accepted to both.
