So I was wondering if I should apply for the Summer Seminar now or wait until after my next SAT and ACT scores come which will most likely be end of Feb. I have a 25 on the ACT now but I don't think that will be competitive right now to get me in. However, I have other of credentials to back me up. Any options and advice would help. Thank you.

I would send it now and update with a new score by calling the office. They are extremely friendly and helpful. Just my advice. Check with others. Good luck! Remember, half of kids with appointments did not get into NASS.

My DS got into NASS with a 25 on the ACT so it's doable

I'd submit now if I were you.

Definitely submit it now. DS hadn't even taken SAT or ACT - just used PSAT (which wasn't very good), grades, class rank. Remember that NASS is 2,550 kids vs ~1,300 to ~1,400 appointments to USNA so the hurdles should be lower for NASS than for USNA (geographic and 'marketing' considerations of USNA, not withstanding).

Same for DS son. No SAT/ACT--ok PSAT--did have excellent grades. Have read here that getting into NASS doesn't mean you will receive an appointment, nor does NOT getting equal no appointment. After NASS DS knew USNA was for him.

Don't worry a 25 can get you in, I know a kid who had a 1620/22 ACT and still got in. Just remember since NASS is a marketing tool geographic location plays a big part in consideration.
