NASS Deadline

I called today. The person I talked to said that all notifications were sent out. Unfortunately I was not selected :( Oh well, makes me want to work harder!

Same here...I called and was told that "it didn't look like I would be invited to the Summer Seminar, and that the letters had all been sent out, but were still in the postal system".

no news is good new? maybe not.

still nothing here in south jersey. :(

haha those are the exact words the person I talked to used. Probably the same person.

haha probably...oh well

We just have to keep our heads up and work at 200%, because apparently 110% just doesn't cut it...:D

Got my rejection in the mail today :frown: no fun- I guess my north Texas congressional district isn't doing me any favors here either.

How is it you expect your Congressional District to be "doing you any favors?". Many gain appt who are not selected for NASS. It's darn competitive and EVERYONE is doing 110%.

I interpreted William's comment to mean that living in a highly competitive district where USNA is very popular and well known (like most districts in North TX) didn't help his chances at getting into NASS, which might focus on inviting students from areas where USNA is less well known. I don't think he meant that he expected his Congressional District to actually "do him a favor". Is this what you meant, William?

just got the bad news...

just got my rejection letter today. very dissapointed since i thought i wasn't from a competitive area. however, this motivates even more. how would i go about trying to attend CVW? can you request it or is it merely competitiveness that they invite you?

In my rejection letter I was not invited to the CVW, but was "invited to continue my application and see it through to completion". I have visited USNA twice last year, could that have something to do with it?

Yes, you can request a CVW, through BGO or Admissions office.

I'm curious, though, William, where in North Texas?

Yes, that's exactly what I'd meant, thank you.
