I just attended NASS session 2 and I just have a real quick question. Does going to NASS really have any effect on your application. I understand the detailers write evaluations at the end. So does NASS really have any effect or hold any weight in your application. Thanks

I am currently a detailer for Summer Seminar and class of 2017. From what we were told really good evaluations will help. Conversely, poor evaluations will hurt. The candidates that were given average evaluations will neither help nor hurt.

I'm also a detailer for NASS and class of '17 and I second what bjrussell14 said. As far as weight though, don't expect a good evaluation alone get you into the academy. When the Admissions board looks at your application, they'll look at everything else (GPA, Class Rank, SAT/ACT, ECAs, Leadership, etc.) before they look at the NASS Evaluation.

DS felt NASS helped him in his MOC interview for his nomination.
