National Guard and ROTC SMP

Does anyone know what the deal is with the national guard. Is it true that if I do not receive an ROTC scholarship I can go to basic training over the summer and join the national guard and they will pay for my college? How does this work?

May I suggest using the search feature on this forum. This topic has been discussed numerous times and there are many helpful posts previously listed.

Please do as Aglahad suggested. The program is different in each state(for National Guard) so as mentioned in many of the previous posts, check with your ROO for recommendation to a knowledgable recruiter. Do your research - it is important to understand the entire process before racing in and raising your right hand to swear in to the Guard
