I have recently become interested in the National Guard. I want to serve my country but at the same time settle down in my home state. In other words have a civiliam career and a family. I'm currently fiinishing my first year of college. I would appreciate any information. Thank you in advance

If you just want to enlist then I would suggest heading over to goarmy.com and writing on that forum. They are much more experienced on the enlisted side than most of us on this forum.

I believe that the Army allows its officers through ROTC to go directly into the Reserves or National Guard if they wish.

I'm not entirely sure how it works (I'm an Air Force guy), but I would suggest checking out the Army ROTC website for more information.
